Hi, I’m David Ristau

I’m an amateur photographer with a passion for Door County, Wisconsin. I love this peninsula.

It’s where everything slows down, and where I notice things I would walk right past anywhere else. That’s really what this site is about.

Some of my favorite frames aren’t the postcard views. They’re a road that can’t decide which way to go, a garage swallowed by vines, an old truck that found a second life as a flower bed, a red chair waiting beside a weathered door. Door County is full of small stories like these, and I love trying to catch them.

I photograph because I love it. If you’re planning a visit, dreaming of one, or missing the peninsula from far away, I hope these pictures bring a little of Door County to you.
